Narrative: The victim and shooter went turkey hunting on private property in the town of Suffield. The two hunters were separated by dense cover and were set up approximately 70 feet apart. The shooter saw movement of what he thought was a turkey and shot. The victim was struck in the face and head and was taken to the local hospital by emergency personnel.

Narrative: A party of three hunters were hunting deer on private property in the town of Berlin. Two of the members met briefly, then split up and headed in different directions. The two hunters ended up walking towards each other. As the victim exited a thick brushy area, the shooter saw movement, which he thought was a deer, and he discharged his shotgun at a distance of 119 feet. The slug struck the victim just below the left knee and passed through the soft tissue of the lower leg. The victim was transported for treatment at a nearby hospital. Legal Action Taken: Negligent hunting 2nd degree; Reckless endangerment 2nd degree; Assault 2nd degree; Discharging a hunting weapon toward a person.
