Handgun trumps crowbar in attempted
robbery
James Borla, owner of Borla's Service Station, said he saw Erick Valsecchi on a video camera walking into the station as Borla was at work in his back office.
He said he saw Valsecchi wielding a crowbar.
The 22-year-old Valsecchi demanded cash from the attendant.
Borla grabbed his .44-caliber gun, came up behind Valsecchi and ordered him to drop the crowbar and lie on the ground.
Valsecchi complied and was soon arrested.
He was charged with first-degree robbery and held on a $75,000 bond.
